Blockade of German Ports
The Allies had blocked off all naval ports in
Germany during the war and continued to do the same for some time after the war.
Over 500,000 people lost their lives due to starvation. All imports were cut
off before the Armistices. For a while after the Armistice took effect, it did
not impact the Allies from blocking off German ports. The Armistice’s eventually
allowed food to into Germany, but the Allies forced Germany to provide all
ships to transport goods into the country.
