Paris Peace Conference -1919
The Peace Conference of 1919 was a meeting after the
end of World War I. January 18th, 1919 the conference opened to
discuss the end of the War. It took place in Paris to take power from the
defeated nations. Diplomats from 29 countries came up with “The Peace Treaty”
penalized Germany for the defeat in World War I. United States President
Woodrow Wilson, Great Britain Prime Minister David Lloyd George, Prime Minister
of France George Clemenceau, Prime Minister of Italy Vittorio Orlando lead The
Peace Conference of 1919. The losing sides were not invited to attend. The most
important part of the meeting required Germany to pay each individual cost for
the War while weakening their military. (This was called the War Guilt Clause.)
It was imposed before the Treaty of
Versailles.
